I started out my career as a Nursery Nurse, after completing my diploma in Childhood Studies. I then worked at the Royal Sussex hospital for 2 years as a Nursery Nurse, caring for poorly babies. At this point, I went travelling for a year and worked in several nurseries in Australia, which I feel broadened my personal and professional horizons greatly.
When I returned, I worked in a nursery in Brighton for a while, before I became a Family Health Support Worker, which involved supporting the Health Visitors and new mothers and their families.
I then went on to train as a Midwife and completed my degree with first class honours in 2010. I have since been practising locally as a Midwife and have also had my own two children in that time.
